North Stockport Social Cycling Group

Leisurely rides ideal for families around the North Stockport area, including Reddish Vale, the Fallowfield Loop,Four Heatons, Reddish and Debdale Park. The rides will take place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month starting at 1pm. All rides start and finish outside the Community Centre in North Reddish Park. Rides take about 2 - 2.5 hours. The Winter 2012/2013 programme will be posted here soon. We welcome everyone, but particularly children, young people and those that are new to cycling. With this in mind there are a few pointers to what we do: * Our rides are fairly short (Ride Easy & Ride Steady) up to about 12 miles * Our rides are fairly flat, mostly on cycle paths, bridleways or some quiet local roads * We're not about racing - just leisurely and social. * We absolutely won't be climbing anything that could be described as 'the Pennines' - some small local inclines, but fairly short. * We stop for regular breaks and keep pace with the slowest riders. * Our rides follow British Cycling approved and risk assessed routes, but they are not formal Skyride British Cycling -led rides. All riders participate at their own risk. * All riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18. * Routes are usually suitable for trailers or tag-a-long bikes. Rides are weather permitting. A little light rain from above is OK - rain coming from the side or below, snow, hailstones or strong winds are not OK. If you want to talk about the rides, give Tony a ring on 07802 978749.
