Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 6RU

A steady but challenging ride in a beautiful part of Sheffield with stunning views across the Loxley Valley and Dam Flask.

This ride is open to anyone aged 16+ and is also part of the training series for 'Ride for Eric 2019' series where we aim to support those who are training to take part in the 25km sportive on the 19th May.

The rides will take place on: Saturday 6th April, Saturday, 20th April and Saturday 4th May.

**New for 2019** Any rider who signs up to at least two of the training rides as well as the sportive will receive a free British Cycling goodie. Just come and find us on the day in the Ride for Eric event arena at Forge Valley after your ride.

This route will be on roads from the sportive itself and will incorporate most of the hills that you will do on the day. What better way to make sure you are prepared!

We will start at the Admiral Rodney pub on Loxley Road and head up the long, steady climb towards the Dam. There we stay on the main road and start our first anticlockwise loop of Damflask with the first of the short but steep climbs before turning off onto a country lane down into Lower Bradfield.

We then head back alongside the Dam on New Road back towards Loxley Road and do the loop again but this time we will stop half way round for a cuppa and cake at the School Rooms Cafe in Lower Bradfield.

At the end of the 2nd loop we will turn right onto Loxley Road and head back down towards the Admiral Rodney pub. Luckily it's all downhill! BUT... if that's not enough, for those of you wanting to make sure you've tackled all the hills ready for the sportive... you have the option to carry on down Loxley Road to the bottom and then head back up again to the pub! After that you will certainly have earned a pint!

To sign up to the Ride for Eric Sportive please follow this link:

NB: This route does involve some hills on a main road which can become busy at weekends.
The ride is open to anyone aged 16+ as well as those preparing for the Ride for Eric Sportive but spaces must be booked through this website to guarantee a place. All riders must wear a helmet and follow the safety advice and guidance of our Guided Ride Leaders whilst out on the roads. Please bring a drink, a snack and a spare inner tube for your bike.
