Abbey Breeze

Following a series of six Wednesday evening rides in September and October 2012 a programme of winter rides have been organised. A fantastic response and enthusiasm from the women in Abbey Village and Withnell has created 'ABBEY BREEZE'.   A facebook page has been created please click here to join the group.  Please note you will need a personal account on Facebook join this group. A Happy New Year to all and lots of exciting cycling in 2013!! The weekend rides will continue alternating Saturday and Sunday.   All at 10.00am meeting at the Hare and Hounds in Abbey Village.    Dates are:- SATURDAY;-  12/01/13    26/01/13   09/02/13   23/02/13   09/03/13   23/03/13. SUNDAYS ;-   20/01/13    03/02/13*  17/02/13   03/03/13   17/03/13   31/03/13 * On the 03/02/13 we are planning to cycle the Preston Guild wheel route.  We’ll meet at 10.00am at the car park behind The Asshaws pub next to the A6 Bridge over the River Ribble.   The route is 21miles and needs 4-5hours to complete (including stops!!). GENERAL RIDE INFORMATION The dates fixed will not always have a Breeze Champion present.   The group is now becoming established and there is likely to be at least 5 or 6 other experienced women to enjoy and share a ride. There will be at least one or two hills on the ride....there is no getting away from that living in this area!   Most rides also involve a track or canal path as well as the road. Please bring lights and brightly coloured fluorescent clothing if you have any.   A comment passed by one of the group suggested that we looked like a set of highlighter pens!! The aim is to get out on the bike at your pace with a fun group all keen to progress their cycling. Welcome to ABBEY BREEZE!! Thanks Hilary.
