Jaunt from Durham to Croxdale

Starting at the Rowing Club we will climb up through Nevilles Cross to join the Bishop Auckland Railway Path in Langley Moor. We then head across on quiet roads to Sunderland Bridge. The route then climbs up the bank past Croxdale house and through the estate to meet the A181 at Bowburn. We will then follow the road into Durham and stop for a well earned coffee and slice of something at Maiden Castle before going back along the riverside to the club.  This is a lovely scenic route of around 12 miles, which will be taken at a leisurely pace. Come and join us and enjoy the beautiful countryside south of Durham. Recommended for children 10+ due to cycling alongside the busy A181 between Bowburn and Shincliffe. Dress warm/appropriate for the weather - warm gloves and thick socks are a must!! Please also bring along some money for refreshments. We look forward to seeing you.
