The Grand Western Canal

An enjoyable relaxing ride along the Grand Western Canal tow path towards Tiverton. There will be lots to see even in these earlier months of the year. We will have to take a slight detour onto quiet country lanes due to the damage caused to the Canal during the recent floods. Once we reach Tiverton we will have time to explore the new visitor centre and if open grab a cup of tea from the Cafe. I will bring some large flasks of water with tea & coffee etc....  There are public free toilets here. After our break we will cycle back along the tow path to the Sampford Peveral car park.  There are public toilets at the car park as well I would recommend that you try to wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions. A good pair of warm gloves is highly advisable. Don't worry if you think you will be too warm as I will  be able to carry excess kit on my bike.  If you need to hire a bike you can at Abbotshood bike hire in Halberton. I do recommend that you contact them before the day to organise when you are going to pick it up. You can also hire an electric bike from my company Easy Bike Days.
