This Women - Breeze Durham ride is open for anyone to join

Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

From outside Crook Hall we will cycle along cycle path and single track path to Newton Junction where will be expertly guided by botanist Julia, in the history and ecology of the area, we will then cycle along towards Frankland prison and visit Brasside ponds (you may wish to bring along binoculars as there is good bird spotting here.
From here we will descend back to the start

A short botanical cruise around North Durham, taking in Newton Junction and Brasside ponds

All off road

we will stop at 3-4 locations to admire the flowers and grasses

Helmets are always advisable, as are clothes suitable for the weather and a drink. Social distancing will be in place, so please ensure you bring along a spare inner tube and pump suitable for your bike. We also recommend you bring a long a bag for botanical collecting.
