Bristol Avenue, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 8TZ We’ll meet on the trail (National Cycling Route 66) at the access point between Limehurst and Hartshead Estates

The plan is to at the access point between Limehurst and Hartshead Estate on the National Cycling Route 66.  There are several access points on this route; Turner Lane; Cranbourne Road; Wood Lane and Peterborough Close. If you’re running late please call us on 07806 874 187 / 07943 100 920. We’ll have plenty of time to have natter and get used to our bikes again on the flat stretches. We’ll head along the trail to Park Bridge and back.  There are a couple of inclines and one hill to tackle (on the way home).  Treat it as a challenge, see how far you and get and work to getting a bit further next time. Please feel free to stop at any time or get off and walk (most of us will). This is a perfect ride for newcomers, beginners and anyone that hasn’t been out on a bike for a while – everyone’s welcome! The route is approximately 3 miles. Please dress appropriately: in cool weather it's a better to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a breathable t-shirt is good for when it’s warm/hot (not that we have that kind of weather very often) and a rain jacket is a good especially given our British spring/summer time!  You might also like to bring a drink and snack for when we stop mid way. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  Look forward to seeing you there!
