Starting point

BL6 7SB

Rivington Hall Barn, Chorley, Lancashire, BL6 7SB

This route is a perfect way to explore Rivington without climbing the pike. The route stays mostly on bridleways so can get a bit bumpy, don’t be put off if it rains as this is a great ride for putting on the waterproofs and having a splash in some puddles. Starting at Rivington Hall Barn we will head along the hill without having to climb up all the way to the back of Blackrod School. We will then cross over Rivington Lane and head along the reservoir passing Go Ape before heading back to the barn. The total length of the ride is around 4 miles and the path is suitable for mountain bikes with sturdy tyres. Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. If you have a spare inner tube great please bring one along but not to worry if you don’t. It’s always good to take a few layers to cope with our British weather, a waterproof is always advisable.
