Brockhole

This is a unique adventure which combines a cycle ride with a sail on Lake Windermere.  Starting from Brockhole Visitor Centre, you head across Windermere Lake via the Bike Boat to access the peaceful western shore.   The route then travels along traffic-free cycle trails to Wray Castle where Beatrix Potter enjoyed childhood holidays. With plenty to see at the castle it's an opportunity for a breather and refreshments before making your way back to the jetty and returning via the bike boat to Brockhole Visitor Centre.

Tasty treats are available from the cafe, but you are also welcome to bring your own picnic lunch on this great ride. This route is just perfect for young families. You will be surprised just what a difference a boat ride makes to take you away from the hustle and bustle of Bowness on the opposite side of the water!
