Starting point

S6 6HW

Plough Inn’s car park, New Road, Low Bradfield, Sheffield, S6 6HW

We are going to ride from the Plough Inn’s car park, New Road, Low Bradfield, Sheffield, S6 6HW, up Blindside Lane, to the start of the 3rd Ride for Recovery (the free and amazing annual event that always starts at Fairholmes Visitor Centre, Upper Derwent, S33 OAQ).

We should have a dam good time, as we encourage everyone to cycle that extra mile around Derwent Dams. There’s also options to meet both new and old friends for a picnic at Fairholmes, Slippery Stones or wherever takes your fancy before we return and pass the Plough Inn again.

Any bike is suitable for the ride to Fairholmes and back, because the roads have been resurfaced. I’ve pre-ridden the route on an old mountain bike that’s too small for me, as well as my old Trek Hybrid, I was very surprised to discover that my average speed during my slowest ride was 11mph. It’s always a dam good ride around Derwent, as well.

Please note that all parking around the very quiet area around the Plough Inn, just like participating during a Ride Social, is at your own risk. However, we should regroup and enjoy the views, as it’s very unlikely that we should lose anyone – unless you really wanted to head off on your own from Fairholmes.
