New Year's Resolution Ride (short)

We’ll be riding out to Whitchurch and back – it’s a fairly flat route that’s about one-thirds on the (no-traffic) bike path and two-thirds on suburban roads. We’ll set off from the playground in Arnos Vale park and ride along the cycle path towards Whitchurch. We’ll head back along Stockwood Lane and pick up the bike path again which will take us back to Arnos Vale park. Then we have a steep uphill finale (get ready to get off and push!) through the park up to the Wells Road where we’ll call in at a café at the end of the ride. This ride is ideal for beginners/people lacking in confidence riding in a group/anyone who wants a short bike ride followed by tea and cake. It will be a steady pace and no-one will be left behind. Any bike will do for this ride as long as it goes (and stops). Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. Please bring some money if you want tea and cake afterwards. If the weather is icy/raining heavily then we will cancel, so look out for updates – otherwise we’ll ride. Wear lots of layers! We’ll set off at 10am, so please arrive 10 minutes early for a quick bike check.
