Jubilee Recreation Ground Car Park, Adlington

Please have thermals at the ready for this ride to Johnson's Hill Lock following a pretty route along the canal towpath and reindeer antlers or a red nose are entirely optional! We'll meet at the Jubilee Recreation Ground car park in Adlington for a warm up (chat) and a quick bike check. Then we’ll head off from the White Bear Marina passing through woodland along the way. We'll take a break at Johnson's lock before heading back the way we came. This is a gentle ride on a mostly flat and traffic free route. The total length of the ride is around 11 miles. It’s a really nice path which is suitable for mountain bikes or bikes with fairly sturdy tyres. Perfect for beginners and anyone who’s not been on a bike for a while too! It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way. Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. If you have a spare inner tube great please bring one along but not to worry if you don’t. It’s always good to take a few layers to cope with our British weather, a waterproof is always advisable and some cash would be handy if you wish to join us for a nice latte in one of the local cafes at the end of the ride. It’s a great way to burn 373 calories - not that anyone is counting! Look forward to seeing you there!
