From Bowness Knott car park down the forest road and along the lakeshore to Irish bridge. Crossing the river Liza before continuing up the valley on the Bridleway to Middle Bridge & back.

Ennerdale is a stunning valley at any time of the year.

The route is entirely on forest roads, tracks & trails. Therefore, Mountain bikes with good tread are advisable.

Helmets are essential, a spare inner tube extremely useful. As is comfortable clothing – a waterproof if wet. Bringing something to drink & a snack as there are no facilities once up the valley.

First-timers welcome!
