We leave Carlisle and are soon on some lovely quiet country lanes above the Eden valley. Our route closely follows the Carlisle to Settle Railway line to Armathwaite and offers some wonderful views of the fells including Cross Fell, the highest Pennine fell.
There will be the chance of some refreshment in Armathwaite before we tackle the one and only steep climb of the ride up past the station. Once up you'll be freewheeling almost all the way back to Carlisle!
