PR1 4LX

We set of from Frenchwood carpark and ride along a short stretch of residential road to join the Guildwheel cyclepath. We turn right onto the path and head through the picturesque Avenham and Miller parks and take in the great views of the River Ribble . We then cross the river and cycle round preston Junction nature reserve . We tackle a few short climbs and are rewarded with great views of the Preston skyline . We will cross back into the parks using the old railway bridge and take in the fine views of the river and in the distance the Yorkshire hills. We then ride round a loop of the park before returning to our starting point. This is a scenic route with a few sharp climbs where you can hone your hill climbing skills while enjoying the great scenery along this stretch of the river ribble.
We will aim for an average speed of 8-10 miles an hour

This route will suit women who are new or returning to cycling. But as with all Breeze ride all women are welcome.

The route is entirely traffic free. We cycle along the Guild wheel path and connecting cycleways in south ribble. All bikes are suitable for this terrain but must be in a road worthy condition.

We will take a breather at the top of hills to allow the group to comeback together and take the opportunity to enjoy the views.

Please bring some water and a snack . Be prepared for cold/warm/wet weather conditions. Riders are advised to wear a helmet and it is compulsory for those under 18 to wear a helmet. Prior to the start of the ride there will be a short bike check and safety brief but please make sure that your bike is in working order before joining the ride. Please carry a spare inner tube and tools necessary to carry out a puncture repair
