Is there any point in having democracy now that our lives are ruled by social media? Become a paid-up member of Cyclists in Southwark and you can take part in an experiment to find out. It now appears that making fun of the inner suburbs of south-west London did not stop with Peter Sellers in the 50s. It continued with Citizen Smith into the 70s. To celebrate this discovery, we will be doing a day trip to visit Balham - Gateway to the South. We then return via Southwark, where we will have a refreshment break at the cafe in the verdant grasslands of Dulwich Park. Ride leader: Nigel Bee (tel 07415 315 690, email [email protected] ).
