A social ride from Mettricks coffee house Guildhall Square in Southampton, down to Beaulieu, via Totton and Eling, then back to Mettricks. We leave from Mettricks Coffee, Guildhall Square Southampton, and head for a Totton via Millbrook Road East, and first and second avenue, using recently installed cycling infrastructure. We head across the Eling tide mill bridge, and past the church of Saint Mary the virgin ( where William the conquerer used to officiate at ceremonies)We then head down to Marchwood, and past Southampton F.C’s Staplewood training campus, and then on to Beaulieu, via Ipley heath. After a brief stop for a breather we then head back to Mettricks Guildhall Square. The ride will be targeted at a social pace of 10-14 mph, the true pace is dictated by the slowest rider in the group, no one gets dropped. All timings ( except the start time) are approximate, the published route is intended as a guide only.
