We will start off cycling inside Southall Park, and when we are ready, we can take quiet residential roads, shared paths, cycle lanes and canal towpaths to get to Richmond. Once we've enjoyed the scenery of this pretty town on the Thames, and had some refreshments we will come back a different route along quiet residential roads, cycle paths and canal towpaths.

This ride is for women who have not ridden a bicycle for years, or have just learned and want to practice, or only ride very occasionally and want to become more confident. We will start off cycling inside the manor house grounds, and as we become more confident, we can cycle in the quiet residential streets together. When we are ready, we can choose where to go from a range of places nearby such as Hanwell Zoo, Osterley Park, the Hillingdon Cycle track and Northala Fields.

Once we feel comfortable cycling in the grounds we will be going out on nearby quieter roads. and cycle paths. We will also learn how to cycle on other roads, but if the traffic is too much, we can always get off our bikes and walk with them across busy junctions.

If the group is willing, we can stop for refreshments in a café or a socially distanced rest in a park or open space - a chance for us to get to know each other better. Don't forget to bring a face covering in case you want to go inside to place your orders or go to the toilets.

Please check that your bike is in working order with the tyres pumped up. You will also need to bring your own mask/face covering in case you need to go into a café or shop, and hand sanitizer. If you want, you can bring some money/cards so you can buy yourself refreshments or bring something to drink/eat. A bicycle lock is useful, but not essential.

I welcome women who have not ridden a bicycle for years, those who have just learned and want to practice, or only ride very occasionally and want to become more confident.
