A steady paced, 40mile ride from Leavesden Cycle Hub to Emily's tea room at Whitwell, a long established cycling cafe with excellent cake! We will be riding pretty lanes through St Albans, Sandridge and Kimpton, returning via Codicote and the Ayots, and the Alban Way. This is a longer, hilly ride but you will be rewarded with lovely views of the North Herts countryside and there is time to stop for extra refreshments on the way back if anyone needs. Do ensure your bike is mechanically sound, bring 2 spare tubes and tools, water and snacks, and ensure you have alternative means of getting home should you need to. Looking forward to seeing you there!
There is some gravelly off road and single track lanes, suitable for hybrid bikes and road bikes with wider tyres.
