From Danson Park, skirting Welling, around fringes of Shooters Hill, across Plumstead Common and down to Plumstead spiral. Then to riverside and along Thames Path to Woolwich Arsenal sculptures. After admiring new ferry boats, continuing on Thames Path, over 'Missing Link', past Barrier, towards Yacht Club. Turn inland towards Odeon/IKEA, but take ramped bridge across BTSA and head for Meantime Brewery. Around power station, through RNC, past Cutty Sark and over Deptford Creek, reaching 'Peter the Great' statue.
Turn and head south on Waterlink Way , pausing at Ferranti Park and join Q1. Follow Q1 east along Halfpenny Hatch over Creek, then move to north side of railway towards Greenwich Town Centre. Skirting town centre, around theatre and into Greenwich Park. Up long hill (but without motor traffic) to enjoy well deserved cafe stop. Afterwards south out of park, across Blackheath and follow usual route east through Kidbrooke. At Eltham, we will use the brand new crossing of Well Hall Rd (approaching crossing on widened pavement). Then up to Falconwood, and back to Danson Park.
Robert leading - 19 miles. Too many photo opportunities to stop at all of them - just enjoy the views ! Some hills, however we will wait for all riders. No one is left behind. However we recommend any new riders to skip this ride and first try one of our shorter rides during April.
Please ensure your bike is in roadworthy condition and that the tyres are fully inflated and ideally you have at least one spare inner-tube and that your seat is at the correct height and that you are dressed for the weather for this time of year.
