NOTE ON 25 MARCH THE CLOCKS GO FORWARD!!!

Join us on the fourth Sunday of every month from March to September 2018! THIS RIDE MEETS OUTSIDE THE PAVILION CAFE (not the car park)

We will be using the brand new (and still being developed) Weaver’s Wheel, a 13-mile circuit of Blackburn. The route follows minor roads, shared paths and canal tow paths. There are some hilly places and some junctions to negotiate so bikes need to be both roadworthy (two working brakes!) AND happy on potentially muddy tow paths (not your skinniest carbon road bike please).

The ride starts and ends at Witton Park Pavilion cafe. There are car parking charges in effect now: £1.50 for the full day (unless you park at “pot hole car park” on Tower Road which remains free). There are loos and a café here. There is NOT a café stop on the ride – you are welcome to join us for a coffee at Witton Park at the end of the ride.

Please note: 13 miles on mixed paths can be SLOW. The group could be large, and might contain children, and we will go at the pace of the slowest rider. Not all the cycling infrastructure is yet in place, meaning some junctions might be walked not ridden. You can expect this ride to take AT LEAST two hours. Ensure you are prepared. You may wish to bring extra food with you and do bring a drink securely attached to your bike or in a comfortable backpack. You are also advised to bring a spare inner tube that fits your own bike.

Children are welcome but please ensure they (and you) are confident about riding this distance with some of the hills we will encounter.
