Leaving Scotter we will head towards Brigg via the first climb up Greetwell Hill. Through Brigg and out on to the Caistor road. We will avoid Bigby Hill by turning right in to Somerby and up the quieter Somerby Hill to briefly rejoin the Caistor road before turning right down in to Searby, turning right towards Howsham and over the level crosiing and up the hill to our coffee stop. Return is via Cadney, Brigg and Scawby.

Route rating

5 stars (1) Reviews

A moderate ride out to the excellent Claytons Corner (Take Away) Cafe. 32 miles with a few hills (1000ft total climbing) we will always stop and regroup at the top of climbs. There will be a bit of traffic as we go through Brigg. A blazing blue ride, we will aim to average between 11 and 13mph - if that is likely to be too fast or too slow for you, please consider one of our other rides. Having said I aim to keep the group together and no-one will be left behind.

The route is all tarmac, suitable for road bikes and hybrids, including e-bikes.

Coffee stop at Claytons Corner, Howsham. Take away service, there a few tables nearby. Payment by card preferred.

Helmets are recommended. Please bring a spare inner tube, a pump and a face covering for emergencies. Also please keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress for the weather. If ice or other dangerous conditions are likely the ride may be cancelled.
