This is a steady ride mostly on the Taff Trail to the Bay and back in an hour.

All bikes are acceptable. We will be going at a steady pace to complete the ride (9 miles) in 1 hour. The majority of this ride is traffic free on the Taff Trail. We will follow the Taff Trail down to the Bay, past the Channel View Leisure Centre, past the Ice-Rink, Cardiff International Pool, and the International White Water Centre, and over Pont-y-Werin, We continue past Penarth Marina on a short road section, over the Barrage, through Mermaid Quay, to another road section, before returning back to Sport Wales on the Taff Trail.

As I am leading this ride in my lunch break, I won't have time to stop for coffee/cake, but everyone else is more than welcome to head up to the Sport Wales café, Kitchen & Brewhouse (formerly Mochyn Du), Pedal Power or any of the other cafes nearby for refreshments after the ride.

Helmets are required for this ride, and please bring a puncture repair kit. (Hopefully you won't need it, but if you do, we can show you how to repair a puncture if you are out of practice.)

First-timers welcome!
