- We will ride on lovely country lanes with pretty views, out along the Rignall Rd, over Longdown Hill, through Cadsden, Askett, Kimblewick, Marsh, Bishopstone to Hartwell Garden Centre, via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36286862 and return via North Lee, Butlers Cross and Chequers
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36286893 (23mi 1000ft ascent)
- There are some sharp ascents and descents, so you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- You can easily get to Great Missenden by train from stations on the Met line. E.g. Chiltern Rail departs Harrow on the Hill at 9:39, arriving GM 10:08 (passing through Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, C&L, Amersham). There are trains back from GM every half hour. It is only a 2-minute ride downhill from the station to the Link Road car park. If you are unsure of the way, I can meet you at the station if you message me beforehand.
- If you are driving to the start, the Link Road Carpark costs £2.50 for 4hrs. You can park for free on residential roads north of the town centre like Rignall Road and cycle to the start.
- Please usual cycling stuff (spare inner tubes, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- Hartwell Garden Centre has lovely cakes and savoury food. Hopefully we can sit outside, next to the bike racks, but in case we need to sit inside please bring a “cafe lock”.
- There are 2 car parks in Link Road. If you are in a car park and can’t see any toilets then you need to cross the road to the car park on the north side of the road.
- I can’t see who is on the waitlist, so if you are on it, send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will see whether I can make another space (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button)
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up – you can use this video.

- You can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day – see
