Starting point

CF10 3ER

Meet by the Summer House Cafe, just over the bridge from Sofia Gardens and the car park. We'll be there from 5.45 or so ready for a prompt start at 6pm

We'll leave the Summer House Cafe promptly at 6pm, heading down the Taff Trail to the Pont Y Werin, from there we'll head to the 'zig zag' path up to Penarth. We'll head through Penarth with a couple of busier roads to cross before cutting through to Sully Road by St Cyres School. We'll have a short section on Sully Road before joining the newly tarmacked path through Cosmeston Park. We'll then head down to the Captains Wife with a view of Sully Island. After a refreshment break (hopefully sitting in the sunshine!) we'll head back up St Mary's Well Bay Road to follow the railway path back to Penarth. We then have a choice of heading back the way we came or over the Barrage depending on the groups preference.

Please note I've limited the numbers on this ride, partly because I live in Dinas Powys so would prefer to leave the ride in/near Penarth rather than heading all the way back to Bute Park!

Remember money for the refreshment stop and an extra layer might be handy as it can be breezy on the coast! A spare inner tube/puncture repair kit is also always a good idea.
