Breeze Lumiere Day Ride

We can't resist creating our own bit of Durham's Lumiere weekend by organising a light themed ride. So, we've scoured our local maps and will cycle past Shiney Row, pedal to the Acoustic Sound Mirror at Namey Hill, with our destination being Roker Lighthouse. After lunch we will return on the C2C route past the National Glass Centre and on to view the Second Sun. We then go up to Offerton and back through New Herrington to the start.

The ride is a mix of on and off road with a few hills, although mostly short-ish. Suitable for most bikes apart from skinny road tyres.

We will stop at Roker for lunch and we will confirm nearer the time if we are going to book into a cafe as it can get cold at this time of the year, so we might like to have a warm up.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres. Expect to be out for about 6-7 hours in total. As always we can’t predict the weather so please dress suitably. You are better to be overdressed as you can always take layers off. For any queries please contact [email protected]. If the weather is bad we will only contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so no later than 7.30am on the day by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us we are still riding.
