Starting point

London
UB10 8ST

- We will meet outside Hillingdon Underground station UB10 9NR (near the Swallow pub on Long Lane)
- This ride is a mixture of cycle tracks and quiet roads (>50% traffic free, 14 miles out and 13 miles back). Since there are a lot of off-road sections it is not really suitable for road bikes with skinny tyres, instead a hybrid or MTB is better.
- We will cycle on quiet roads to Little Britain, then on tracks and cycle paths to Langley, Eton and Windsor along this route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31405139
- Although quite long, this is a fairly flat ride. We will ride at the pace of the slowest rider and always wait so that no one is left behind.
- To keep everyone safe we will be using social distancing, riding single file and minimising personal contact. Please bring and use hand sanitiser; you may wish to wear a face mask and gloves, but these are not compulsory.
- If you, or anyone in your household, are feeling at all unwell with possible symptoms of Covid-19 such as new persistent cough, high temperature, loss of sense of taste or smell, please cancel your place.
- Please take a minute to look at British Cycling’s guidance regarding cycling and COVID-19: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/about/article/20200512-about-bc-news-British-Cycling-Updated-Coronavirus-Guidance-0.
- If you want to read what Public Health England say about COVID-19, please see below:
https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/coronavirus-covid-19-list-of-guidance#guidance-for-the-public
- Ultimately, only you can decide if you feel safe from the risks of COVID-19 to ride at this time.
- We will stop for lunch at Windsor where we should be able to find somewhere to buy lunch but to be safe you may want to bring a snack. Please also bring a pump, water, credit card and at least 1 spare inner tube. I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety. According to www.lockdownloo.com
there are plenty of public toilets open including at the Windsor Royal Station shopping centre, Windsor and Eton Riverside station, Eton Court Car Park and the Coach car park next to Alexandra Gardens.
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Check your brakes are working well, your gears are smooth and your tyres are in good condition and pumped up – you can use this video. https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/get-active/2019/everyday-walking-and-cycling/the-m-check-for-your-bike-in-11-steps If that one is too technical then try this easier one https://youtu.be/u0dtGe-LrcQ
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line anytime on weekends and off-peak Mon-Fri (peak hours are 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00).

If you are driving to the start there is free parking on many residential roads off Long Lane e.g. Merton Avenue UB10 9BN.
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me.
