Starting from - Rayners Lane station. We are getting the 0932 train, so please be on time as we will not wait for latecomers. Please take your bike down to the platform for Hammersmith so that you are ready to board the train. We will need to lift our bikes up and down the stairs, but others will help if necessary. The best place to board the train is at the end of the carriage, where your bike is not in the way of others. W6 8AB

This ride is quite short, but full of things to see. You need to be confident in a bit of traffic, but most of the route is traffic-free or on quiet roads. We'll take the Piccadilly Line from Rayners Lane with our bikes to Hammersmith. We shall ride from Hammersmith station, across the newly-reopened Hammersmith Bridge (pedestrians and cycles only); down the Thames Path past the Wetlands Centre to the boathouses at Putney Bridge; across the bridge to Fulham Palace park, a hidden gem. We'll have a drink in the cafe and a short period to look at the beautiful trees and walled garden. Then it's back along the Thames path, past Fulham FC's Craven Cottage ground, to Hammersmith, then along King Street to Chiswick High Road to enjoy the new segregated Cycleway as far as Gunnersbury Station, from which we take the train back to Rayners Lane.

Please note that the Thames Path is bumpy in places, so road bikes are unsuitable.

COVID-19 precautions: you need a mask for the train, cafe and toilets and using hand sanitiser is advised. Please do not come if you have any symptoms or have been told to self-isolate.
