Starting from - The free Car Park off Marconi Way (road to the left of the Oystercatcher pub near Tesco's at Penarth Marina. The car park has a height limit, but there is also on road parking. The start point is very near Cogan train station (on the Barry line out of Cardiff). It’s also on the Bay Trail just over the Pont Y Werin. No toilets but there is a café just over the Pont y Werin or in the nearby Tescos.

If you live in Penarth and would prefer to save the hill and meet us at the top of the Zig Zag path that's fine, just send me a message once you've signed up so I know!, CF64 1ST

We’ll meet at Penarth Marina and then head out through Penarth and the Railway Cycle Path to Cosmeston. After cycling through Cosmeston we’ll join quiet lanes into Dinas Powys with a couple of sections on busier roads through and out of Dinas Powys to Wenvoe. The route is undulating but no huge hills.

This is a ride out to the Open Gardens in Wenvoe, where one of our Breeze Champions is opening her garden. I have put this as a one way route as we may wish to spend differing amounts of time admiring the gardens. But assuming we all leave together I will at least escort you back or make sure you know how to get home!

The route is a mixture of busy roads, quiet roads and traffic free paths. Not for complete beginners, but we’ll take it steady and avoid the busier sections as far as possible.

We are heading for Wenvoe Open Gardens – 10 gardens which are opening in aid of repairs to Wenvoe church. We’ll stop first at the two gardens nearest to Dinas Powys where we can buy a £5 ticket for all 10 gardens. Then head for Wenvoe Church where we can lock up the bikes and buy tea and cake. From there it will be easier to walk to the remaining gardens in the village. If you prefer not to do the gardens you can of course leave us in Wenvoe!

Bring cash for open garden entry (£5 for all gardens) and for tea and cake. Also a lock. We may need to lock bikes in a pile or to random objects so a flexible lock would be good! Helmets, a spare inner tube and appropriate clothing for the weather are also a good idea

We never leave anyone behind
