Starting point

West Yorkshire
BD18 3LA

This ride meanders around through Gilstead, Eldwick, Hawksworth, Esholt and Baildon. There are a a couple of traffic-free sections on unsurfaced tracks, beginning with the top of Higher Coach Road, Baildon, and the track though the woods - past the ruins of Titus Salt's House, 'Milnerfield' - to Spring Lane in Gilstead. We will also use a section of Sheriff Lane in Eldwick. Sections of these tracks may be muddy and slippery in places and I'd recommend that you don't use narrow (under 28C) or slick tyres for this ride. We can walk short sections if necessary. There are refreshment opportunities at Dick Hudsons, also in Baildon and Saltaire.

This is one of a series of rides, with an average distance of around 20 miles. On these rides we'll explore some quieter routes around Bradford. Some of these rides make new use of some favourite old routes of mine, some are new routes, some incorporate National Cycle Network (NCN) routes. Each ride will be predominantly on the road but we will also make use of traffic free routes where possible. This is West Yorkshire so there will be a few hills to test your gears and your legs, but walking up the hills is always an option and no-one will get left behind.

There'll be a cafe stop and get-together either during or at the end of the ride. It's advisable to bring a drink and a snack for top-ups along the way, also some money for refreshments when we stop. Bring a roadworthy bike and wear clothing that you will be comfortable cycling in. Dress appropriately for the weather too: several thin layers are best and a rain jacket could come in handy. Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome.

My number on the day is 07725 743305.
