Breeze Bike Rides in Scunthorpe A New Year a New You. Are you keen to burn off the excesses of Christmas and get fit for the New Year?  Over the next 6 weeks there will be a series of rides starting from Normanby Hall Country Park.   This series of 6 rides will be steady paced starting at 11 miles and building up to around 20 miles and are not suitable for very beginners. The rides are more suitable for those who ride occasionally or used to ride but haven’t done so in a while, however, we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider and no-one will be left behind. The route will take us through Thelby, Coleby, West Halton through to Burton Upon Stather, and Normanby, finishing back in the Park. The first week or two will be a little over 11 miles long, depending on how we go the third week we can increase the distance. Over the following weeks we will gradually ride further and faster, until we are riding 20 miles. We can also incorporate some hills.  If you already ride a bike regularly you might want to wait until the rides get a bit longer and faster before joining us.  We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider and never leave anyone behind.  You will need a bike that is in good working order. A road bike or hybrid bike would be ideal. Please give your bike a check over before you leave home, make sure the tyres are pumped up. Please come prepared for the weather forecast on the day - a few layers are better then one heavy layer. You will need shoes with a good grip. Hands and feet can get very cold in January so wear two pairs of socks and some warm gloves.  You will also need a bottle of water or juice.  Although helmets are not compulsory I highly recommend wearing one. NOTE: Parking in the park cost £3.00, you could park in Normanby and walk around to the front gate. You could get an annual pass which are great value for money. Family annual pass (two adults and their children) - £22 Annual pass for two - £18 Annual pass for one - £13.50 If you have any questions please contact me at [email protected]
