Caerleon

Starting from the retail park at the top of Newport Road (we'll meet outside Greggs), we will pick a route through Rumney into St Mellons, and from there head out into familiar lanes to Bassaleg. Exploring new ground we cycle out through Rogerstone and nice country lanes up to Castell-y-Bwch and along to Caerleon. This first half of the route is undulating but no hills are long or particularly steep.

After stopping for refreshments in Caerleon, we pick up the cycle path into Newport and come back to Cardiff along the coast road, nice and flat!

Please check your bike over before coming, in particular check that both brakes are working and both tyres are inflated. Bring a spare inner tube if you have one and please do wear a helmet. Come dressed for the weather - it will likely be cold, don't forget your gloves, and a waterproof layer is a good idea at this time of year.
