A mix of on and off road riding with what is described by British Cycling's mapping tool as a "rolling" terrain - basically there's a few climbs involved in between a predominantly flat and/or downhill ride. There is one challenging climb into Cadeby from Denaby Ings Nature reserve and the only other climbs worth mentioning is the ascent from the River Don bank by the side of the viaduct at Conisbrough (it's a tough one for all but the fittest, but a pleasant enough walk) and the climb along the TPT just after the Earth Centre though this is the easiest of the 3 climbs on the ride. Dont let the up hill bits put you off though, if you want to walk up that's absolutely fine, and you'll still get the benefit of all the down hill runs. There are a number of options on this route for pub stops to rest and refresh so we can decide on the day which one to stop at.
