Starting point

Cheshire

We head out to the Burton Marshes bike path, through Deeside industrial estate and then along the banks of the river Dee for a few miles before crossing it. From here we ride along country lanes until we reach Chocks away cafe at Hawarden Airport. This cafe looks out onto the airfield and if we are lucky we may see the Beluga aircraft bringing wings to the Airbus factory. It will be about 16 miles to this lunch stop so bring some snacks if you want food on route!

The return route starts by retracing a bit of our route before heading towards Saughall, then past Dunkirk, through to Capenhurst and back to Hooton Station

This route should be suitable for all types of bikes, however short sections of the route can get muddy after rain

The vast majority of this route is on roads so you do need to be confident on these. There are some small hills along the way, but nothing major to worry about.

Please make sure you bring a spare inner tube, water and a jacket
