Starting point

Dunbartonshire
G81 1RP

Leisurely cycle from Clydebank along the canal and back to Lock 27, which is both the number of the lock on the canal that the boats use, but also the name of the beverage establishment there. Being away from traffic mostly the entire route, we can cruise along the towpath.

This cycle is suitable for cyclists of any level from beginners, first timers to those who use any excuse to get out on the bike, unfortunately though, not the best for road bikes as the towpath will be a bit uneven in some areas. If we feel like it we can always go a little futher up to the Maryhill locks

Note - some parts of this cycle path are a little uneven - could be a bit uncomfortable / puncture prone on road bike tyres

Please remember to bring stuff you would normally for a longer cycle
helmet?
tools and puncture fixing stuff? (spare inner tubes / tyre levels/ patches / pump)
juice & snacks?
suitable clothing - its Scotland in February it might rain
cash for snacks / juice etc?
phone to take pictures for your Instagram?
