Allerdale Coastal Explorers are a friendly group of people wishing to take part in Guided Rides that will showcase all that the Allerdale coast has to offer.
This week our ride will start from the main large car park at the Mawbray end of Mawbray Banks nature reserve, home of the illusive Natterjack Toads!

Please be aware of the extremely uneven road surface leading to the car park itself, whether arriving by Car or by Bike.

Unfortunately this week we have no toilet facilities along or at the start finish point of our route.

We will be cycling at an easy going, leisurely, sociable pace for like-minded people.
These midweek rides will be mostly using cycle ways and quite country back roads either along the coast or leading to it.
This week our route takes us through Beckfoot with some parts of the Hadrian's traffic free cycle way, there is a very short 400 yards of main B road to connect with the 2 points of cycle path.
This section will be managed for you with your safety in mind.

These are easy going rides suitable for beginners, new & existing E-Bike riders and those wishing to do more leisure cycling within a friendly small group of people.

We always travel at the slowest rider's speed with encouragement, support and friendship so no one is ever left behind.
This will enhance your enjoyment of leisurely cycling within the safety of our group, so this ride is not for you if you require speed or wish to beat your personal best on Strava!

Also please bring with you a road worthy bike, your helmet, clothes you are comfortable cycling in, easy to remove layers work the best, a waterproof jacket, (as you never know) a cold drink & snack for along the way if needed.

Please do not attend the ride if you have Covid symptoms, have someone in your household who does or if you have tested positive on a recent Covid test. Cancelling your place won't be a problem just let us know on the website before the ride so we are not waiting unnecessarily for you, especially if its raining.
All participants on a British cycling ride are now required to provide & carry all their own bike repair equipment to comply with the government's self-sufficiency rules.
So, the minimum is your own hand pump with the correct connection for your inner tube valve, a set of tyre levers & this seasons must have cycle accessory a spare inner tube that fits your bike (just in case).

This ride is led by an experienced British Cycling trained coach, so if you need any advice or help starting or getting back into that saddle for this ride just message the ride leader on the riders tab below.

So if Allerdale Coastal Explorers interest you why not come along and join us for an ACE guided ride this week which will be a circular Mawbray Mooch :)
