With the Lake District having just gained UNESCO World Heritage Site status, a member of the Lake District National Park Authority team will be on hand on this ride to explain more about the World Heritage Site and why the area deserves this status.” Ride around Coniston Water - the location for Malcolm Campbell's record water speed attempt. A great traffic free start to the ride on the west side of Lake Coniston with the remainder on gently undulating roads. The ride meanders around the lake offering tantalising glimpses of the water and the Coniston Old Man. South of Torver there is a section of A road before turning up the hidden east side of the lake on very quiet roads when the ride passes Brantwood, home of John Ruskin.
