Starting from - Porteur cycling cafe, 210 Church Road, Hove, BN3 2DJ

You can bring your bike inside this bike friendly cafe - there is safe bike storage inside, at the back of the cafe

Kelly is in charge of the cafe side of things - with locally roasted coffee, wide range of teas, and lots of freshly baked cakes on offer, you might want to turn up early for some fuel for the ride and chat with other riders.

Paul, the mechanic in charge of the workshop, can have a look at your bike if it's making a funny noise, and there is a track pump in the bike store to fully inflate your tyres before we ride out. BN3 2DJ

Starting point

East Sussex

This is a flat ride, using cycle paths and quiet roads to explore the delights of Hove and Southwick seafront; Hove Lagoon, Millionnaire Row (where the rich and famous live), Shoreham Harbour, and the wind turbines next to Carats cafe.

Whilst there are no hills to contend with, the wind can makes the ride tough in one direction (but speedy and easy the other way!).

Remember to check your bike before setting out for the ride:
- are both tyres fully inflated?
- do both brakes work well?
- is the chain clean and lightly oiled?
