We leave Middlebrook heading for Wingates and Daisy Hill then on towards Pennington where we join the canal, using some quiet and some busier roads along the way.
Following the canal, taking in the scenery and viewing both the Pennington and Wigan Flashes we then head up towards the Wigan Flight; an interesting series of lock gates leading us through towards Haigh Hall. We plan refreshment stops: morning coffee along the canal and lunch/snack at Haigh Hall. So don’t forget your pennies. The canal is mostly paved or hard packed surfaces. There are some gates to tackle and a couple of steady inclines but we will take these in our stride. Our return journey to Middlebrook is via some quiet and some busier roads.

We never leave anyone behind.
