Cwmbran Afon Llywd 'Wildlife' ride - easy ride for new starters with an optional added kick!

Join me on this lovely gentle ride starting at the Cwmbran Boating Lake carpark (opposite The Alders, Llanyravon). We will take a nice steady, flat route on cycle paths from the lake up towards Croesyceiliog then looping back down the other side of the river towards Llanyravon. We'll complete this loop twice before heading up through the woods where you'll search out the Cwmbran 'Wildlife'! Then back for your well earned refreshments at the Llanyravon Manor before returning to the carpark.
Note: we will cross two roads during this ride but both are quiet or have crossings. Total distance is a doable 7.5 miles, suitable for families and new starters or those who just fancy a gentle ride out and a chat. Its also a great ride to bring the kids out for some fresh air and exercise.

The added little twist is - How would you like to test your legs on a hill climb?
There is an option at the end of the river loop to 'whip up' chapel lane and whizz back down to get in some practise for a hill climb. This is not a compulsory part of the ride because if you don't fancy it then just continue on the flat route around the river as the hill climbers tackle the hill and then re-join you as you reach the end of the loop when we'll all go for some well deserved coffee and cake in the Llanyravon manor.
