This ride is a steady ride to London from Danson park celebrating bike week, slightly faster paced than the “Healthy rides” but still not fast, we wait for all riders no one is left behind. Come along and join our fun 30 mile ride passing many places of interest and historic buildings and landmarks, you will be amazed at how quiet and safe it is to cycle to and from the City of London from Danson park. We leave Danson and onto Falconwood through Eltham park and Blackheath, down to Cutty Sark and along the Thames path to Surrey docks and Rotherhithe, following the Thames path to Tower Bridge where we cross to the north side picking up the superhighway (CS3), passing Tower of London and visiting St Dunstan in the East, a very old Church (circa 1100) that was bombed in WW11 and is now a public garden. Then along the super highway (CS3) and under London bridge picking up the Quietway (Q11) into the City of London where we will stop to admire the Guildhall, taking the back streets past the Barbican and onto old Street and “Look Mum No Hands” where we will stop for a short refreshment break at the infamous cycle café/bar and shop. Then back on our bikes visiting the oldest house in the city of London at Cloth fair built in 1566, and then passing Smithfield meat market and under Holborn viaduct along Farringdon road (CS6) to Blackfrairs bridge, and along the Embankment (CS3) passing old Scotland yard and Big Ben, and over Westminster bridge passing County hall and Southbank picking up Quietway 1 (Q1) taking this lovely quiet route back to Greenwich and across Blackheath and along Rochester way in Eltham taking the quiet back streets and parks back aiming to reach back to Danson park for 3pm completing 30 miles. Harry leading “All Welcome”

Please ensure your bike is in roadworthy condition and that the tyres are fully inflated and ideally you have at least one spare innertube and that your seat is at the correct height and that you are dressed for the weather for this time of year.
