This is a nice route on a mixture of quiet lanes and a few short spells on busier roads.

Note that this is listed as a steady ride but it is close to being challenging with a couple of hills including one particularly steep one which your leader might well walk up part of the way :-) , but it's a lovely quiet road so easy for stopping and starting, those who are good at hills can push on and we can all regroup at the tops of hills.

We'll head from Dinas Powys out towards Wenvoe, then take a back route towards Ely before heading to back to the Vale via St Georges and back over the biggest hill, from there it's an easy roll down to Dyffryn Gardens - with a short spell on the busy A48, but in a wide section with good visibility. We'll stop for refreshments and toilets at the lovely National Trust cafe at Dyffryn before heading back to Dinas via St Lythans and Wenvoe.

Remember warm clothing and gloves, water, snack and money for the National Trust cafe. A pump and puncture repair kit/spare inner tube is also a good idea.

This ride is suitable for all bike types although the lanes can be a bit muddy with pot holes at this time of year.
