There is a great, traffic-free route between Swansea University's two campuses, following the sweep of Swansea Bay. Much of the route is obvious, although it can get a bit confusing near the Marina and along Fabian Way, so why not join some of the Uni's British Cycling trained ride leaders who ride the path every day, to discover a cheap, healthy and (above all) fun way of travelling between the campuses. There are various routes that you can take, this is probably the most scenic and only takes about five minutes longer than the most direct path.

Meeting at the Santander Bikes stand outside Fulton House, we leave the campus before crossing Mumbles Road at the bottom of Brynmill Lane and then follow the seafront path all the way to the Trafalgar Bridge over the Tawe. From there we cross to Prince's Dock before getting onto the path that takes us behind the Fabian way Park and Ride. The path then follows Fabian Way before we turn off under Baldwin's Bridge to arrive at the Bay Campus.

The whole route is traffic free (although there are a few road crossings) and almost flat, and surfaced, so suitable for all types of bike.

All you need is a roadworthy bike (check tyres and brakes before setting off) and a helmet. Don't have your own bike? Because we will be starting and finishing at a Santander Bikes station, there is always the option to hire a bike for the trip.
