Durham Breeze Railway Path Taster Ride
Thurs 12th July 7pm 8 miles
Start at Broompark Picnic site DH7 7RJ
This is the ride for you, if you’ve been thinking about joining us but haven’t got round to it yet. It will be at a leisurely pace and the perfect way to ease yourself in to joining a group ride.
We’ll start from Broompark Picnic site and pedal along the Lanchester Valley Railway Path to Langley Park and back. This is a delightful route following the River Browney and passing the ruins of Beaurepaire which was a summer retreat for the monks of Durham.
It is all off road and flat other than the usual railway path short up and downies. It is most suitable for hybrid or mountain bikes but ok for a road bike if dry.
In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres. We should be out for about an hour and a half but as always it is difficult to be precise about timing.
As always we can’t predict the weather so please dress suitably. You are better to be overdressed as you can always take layers off.
For any queries please contact us at
[email protected]. For any last minute cancellations on the day please text 07493808927 (note this phone is only for the day of the ride) otherwise use the option to cancel when you log in to letsride.co.uk. If the weather is poor we will only contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so no later than 5.45pm on the day. If you have not heard from us it is going ahead.
We look forward to meeting you.
