Don Gorge is along the River Don, with wet lands and Hides for bird watching along the way. Extremely beautiful with lots of trees and wonderful birdlife to see. The route along the Don Gorge is mainly tarmacked however there are muddy areas and Autumnal leaves along the track can make it slippy in places. so mountain bike tyres or hybrid off road tyres are advisable.
There is occasionally cattle by the River Don on a short stretch of the path, but these have never been a problem on previous rides. ( They now seem to have been moved and have not been encountered on the last few rides ).
Although distance Is not challenging the terrain might be at times. There is at least one challenging hill. ( walked by many a regular cyclist.).
