Starting from - We'll meet at the end of St Cadoc’s Avenue please park considerately to residents, but there is normally plenty of room and there is also a cut through from Dinas Powys train station if anyone is coming by train. If you prefer to meet us at Old Cogan Hall Farm/St Peter’s Church that is fine just let me know, there is limited parking there. It will shorten the ride by a couple of miles and cut out the biggest hill/most of the roads! Let me know if you want more details on getting to either start point. CF64 4TY

This is a short ride to time with morning nursery for those with children in school/playgroup in the mornings – although obviously all are welcome! We’ll ride on quiet roads through Dinas Powys, through Cosmeston Country Park and down to the sea at Sully Island. One short sharp hill up Murch Crescent, but no problem if you want to walk up it. Or if you prefer you can meet us at Old Cogan Hill Farm/St Peters Church which might be easier for anyone coming from Penarth after school drop off. Estimate start time from here 9.30-9.45 and back for 10.30. This is a trial of fitting a Breeze ride around school nursery times so timings, route and distance will vary depending on attendees.
The route is a mixture of quiet roads and traffic free paths. Some of the paths (notably leaving Dinas Powys are very wet and potholey so not ideal for road bikes. Smaller children in bike seats are welcome, but would need to check/amend the route for those with trailers.
No stops and as aimed for mums who need to get back for pick ups we will amend the route as needed on the day to ensure we are back in time. However those who have time can head to The Plug in Dinas Powys for a coffee at the end.
The only essentials are a safe and working bike and clothing appropriate for the weather and gloves! If you have a spare inner tube/puncture repair kit do bring them, as well as money if you’d like to stop for refreshments at the end.
First-timers welcome!
