This is a great ride if you have never mountain biked and want to see what it’s all about. It would also be good if you are returning to the trails after a break away or even if you fancy a more relaxing ride in the forest.

We will be riding forest tracks and part of the blue grade MTB Quercus trail. Sections of the route are on an uneven surface, with loose stone, gravel and mud. The route has a couple of short climbs and then undulates through the forest. The ride will be at a pace to suit the group, no one will be left behind.

Mountain biking is great fun and a good way to get fit surrounded by the lovely Whinlatter Forest.
Bike info - A mountain bike, a hybrid with mountain bike tyres or a gravel bike with suitable tyres. Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. Check your gears and brakes at least the night before. If possible bring a spare inner tube, tyre levers and a pump.

Clothing - A helmet and gloves are essential. Bring a waterproof jacket if there is any chance of rain.

A drink and a snack if needed (as Siskins café will be closed).

If you need to cancel your place it won’t be a problem just let us know before the ride so we are not waiting unnecessarily for you, especially if it’s raining.

Any questions or concerns about attending just give the ride Leader a quick message on the rider's tab below.

Toilets/Car Parking at the Visitor Centre – pay on exit.
