Starting point

Glamorgan
CF14 2FS

We start this journey at the top end of Hailey Park, in the car park next to Llandaff North Rugby Football Club.

Our first section takes us along the shared use path alongside Ty-Mawr Road to the Melingriffith Water Pump, and alongside the river to meet Forest Farm road. This is a short quiet on-road section before re-joining the Taff Trail up into Tongywnlais. From here we use the road to reach Castell Coch.

This is an almost flat route, except for the middle section up through Tongwynlais to the Castell Coch entrance, and the short steep section up to the castle itself. We can walk this section if needed.

The path is all tarmac and suits any bike.

Feel free to bring a snack and a drink as we will stop at Castell Coch for a break.

Beginners and children over 8 welcome, this will be an easy paced ride where everyone can chat along the way. Any under 16s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Anyone under 18 must also wear a helmet.
