This is the first in a regular series of easy Tuesday lunchtime Breeze rides. The plan is to meet every Tuesday at Pedal Power and take a short ride around the Llandaff Fields and Bute Park. Entirely traffic free and perfect for new riders or those who haven’t been on a bike for a while. Regular cyclists are also welcome too maybe you just fancy a spot of fresh air and good company on your lunchbreak. The distance is very much an estimate and will probably vary from week to week. This is a one off trial and then I plan to run weekly from September 10th. Children on their own bikes or in bike seats are welcome on this ride but do book a place for those on their own bikes. We will ride at the pace of the slowest rider.
Entirely traffic free ride through Llandaff fields and Bute Park. The exact route will vary depending on participants, the weather and other activities.
We will take it steady, but no stops are planned. However we’ll stop for a coffee (plus a cake or snack if you fancy) at the café at Pedal Power at the end. We will cycle for 30mins to 1 hour depending on weather and the participants
Bring your bike or contact Pedal Power (https://www.cardiffpedalpower.org/locations-and-opening-times) to hire one. Adaptive bikes (of which Pedal Power have a great range) are welcome on this ride, if you're a bit wobbly on two wheels you could hire a trike from them for this ride. Or you could use a Next Bike (nearest hire stations are Sophia Gardens or by Café Castan). Clothing appropriate for the weather and money for the café stop are all you need. As well as the ride we can chat about all things relating to cycling in Cardiff such as routes, equipment etc.
First-timers welcome!
