We will ride out of the Community Centre and either take the quieter roads to Holt Lane over to Borough Court or we will a cycle down the A30 for a short while depending on the experience of the group. We will then cycle out towards Daneshill School and from there we have the A33 Basingstoke Road junction to cross at the Wellington Arms Public House to take us towards Stratfield Saye. We follow our route out to Silchester following the Roman City Wall ruins. We then continue to the A340 Aldermaston Road where we will cycle on this busy road for a few minutes till we reach the Garden Centre for our stop at Little Roses Coffee Shop. After our stop we have to retrace our steps for a brief distance back towards Bramley, we take Cufaude Lane which takes us towards Chineham, we cycle round some of the housing estates as we proceed to cross the A33 where we will follow the route towards Old Basing where we will then pick up Newnham Lane to take our journey back towards Hook.

A lovely scenic route to Elms Park Garden Centre, Little Roses Coffee Shop Tadley.

We have a few major junctions to cross and to travel along some busy main roads for a short distance. The roads are not pot hole or traffic free, and each rider will need to point or verbally make aware so the rider behind knows what to expect. This will all be discussed at the ride briefing and where appropriate when we stop at points on the route.

We will stop on the route where necessary, to regroup after a climb and also at the coffee shop. We will also stop for the odd photo opportunity.

Please make sure: • You bring a cycle helmet (no helmet no ride!) • Your bike is in good mechanical working order and your tyres are properly inflated, if your bike is unsafe you will not be able to take part on the ride • Suitable clothing for the weather e.g waterproof jacket for a wet ride • Puncture repair kit, spare inner tube and bike pump • Please make sure you bring a drink/snack to keep you hydrated • A padlock for securing your bike at the cafe stop

Because of the distance of this route please note this ride is not suitable for beginners. The average speed of the overall ride will be approximately 10-12 mph (no rider will be left behind, all riders will keep with the pace of the slowest rider).
